Harriet Klingelhofer purchased the lot for her new home on February 22, 1896 for the kingly sum of $225.00.
The original structure, which consisted of four rooms and the front porch, was built shortly thereafter. The plans called for the home to be 24’ by 26’, smaller than most modern day garages!
Not much is known about Harriet, but her simple, yet graceful style is still visible in the small details. Neat symmetrical stained glass squares of gold, red and blue line the windows, and that square detail continues in the beautiful wood floors and mouldings.
The kitchen and bathroom were added in 1910, and a garage and breezeway were constructed in 1970. There have been only ten owners over the years, including the current owner, Ron Askland.
